I don’t even know where to start but I cannot recommend Jessie enough. Having mixed hair has always made it hard to find someone who genuinely knows how to work with it but what’s even harder is finding someone who makes you feel safe, seen and heard - and that’s exactly what Jessie does. She’s incredibly patient and takes the time to figure out exactly what you not only want but need. I feel like a lot of hairstylists I’ve been to tend to get caught up in what they like to do or what they want to do and not about who you are and what would make you feel good about yourself. Every time I go to Jessie I feel like her philosophy of intentional and ritualistic haircuts has always made me leave understanding more about myself and more importantly, instilled a new sense of confidence. Just as an example, I’ve never really been one to go out and take pictures of myself or even have confidence nor have I ever had a good experience with short hair but this most recent cut I got from Jessie not only boosted my confidence but truly unlocked a version of myself that I feel comfortable in. Take it from someone who has run the gauntlet with hairstylists, Jessie is truly the best of the best!

My room is the most sacred place in my house and I felt safe having Jessie create a painting for me that was not only beautiful, but was intentional and had spiritual energy in it with her gift of love.
