General FAQ

  • Do you see clients online or in person?

Yes. Hypnosis, Reiki, and Akashic readings work beautifully online through Zoom. Many clients even prefer it from the comfort of their own home. If you are local to Long Beach, California, I also offer in-person hypnosis, energy work, and therapeutic image consulting in my private space.

  • How do I book?

You can book directly through my booking page. Once you do, you will receive intake forms to help me understand what you are working with, and you will get confirmation details with everything you need to prepare. If you are unsure about committing to a full session, I also offer a free 20-minute discovery call by phone. This is a chance for us to talk through your questions, get a sense of alignment, and see if working together feels like the right fit.

  • How much does it cost?

Pricing depends on the service. Single sessions, packages, and subscriptions are all structured differently, and full details are available on my booking page. I know investing in yourself can feel like a big step. Think of it this way: you have already been investing in exhaustion, self-doubt, or stress by carrying it around every day. This is a chance to put that energy toward something that actually supports you.

  • Can I work with you while also seeing my therapist or doctor?

Yes. Hypnosis works beautifully alongside therapy, medical care, or other healing practices. With your consent, I can communicate directly with your therapist, doctor, or any practitioner you are working with. This kind of collaboration helps create a stronger support system around you, so the work we do together builds on what you are already doing elsewhere. Many clients find that combining hypnotherapy with therapy accelerates their progress, since hypnosis helps shift subconscious patterns while therapy provides insight and integration.

The only recommendation I make is that you work with just one hypnotherapist at a time. Each of us has different training and modalities, and too many approaches at once can create subconscious confusion.

  • Is there anyone you do not work with?

Yes. While hypnosis can support many people, it is not the right fit in every situation. I do not work with individuals experiencing active psychosis, untreated severe mental illness, or those under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of session. If you are in immediate crisis or struggling with suicidal thoughts, hypnosis is not the right starting place. Please reach out to emergency services or a licensed mental health provider who can give you the urgent care you need.

  • Do you take insurance?

I do not accept insurance. Many clients use a Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) to cover the cost of sessions, and I am able to provide receipts for that purpose. To make the work more accessible, I also offer discounted rates through packages and subscriptions. This way you can receive ongoing support at a lower per-session rate compared to booking individually.

  • Why do you recommend packages and subscriptions?

Why do you recommend packages and subscriptions?

Because change takes time. Hypnosis and healing are most effective when done in a series rather than a single session. Packages and subscriptions provide structure and steady support while also offering discounted rates. They create momentum and allow the work to go deeper, giving your mind and body the consistency they need to integrate change.

  • What are the subscription options?

Subscriptions are designed for people who want regular touch points without having to rebook each time. I currently offer three tiers. Anchor is light but steady support, often one session per month. Flow is mid-level support with more frequent sessions. Current is the most comprehensive option, combining hypnosis, Reiki, or Akashic work with consulting. Each subscription is designed to meet different levels of need. You can also mix and match services within a subscription. Options include virtual image consulting, distance Reiki in express format, virtual hypnotherapy, and virtual Akashic Record readings. This flexibility allows your subscription to adapt to what you need most each month.

Hypnosis FAQ

  • What exactly happens in a hypnosis session?

We start by talking. I want to hear what has been weighing on you, where you feel stuck, and what you wish felt different. From there, I guide you into a state of focused relaxation. It is not sleep, but a calm awareness where your body feels lighter and your mind softens.

In that state, I use imagery, metaphor, and suggestion to help your subconscious shift. For example:

If you struggle with self-worth, we might “turn up” the inner dial that connects to value and confidence.

If you are holding on to stress, we might imagine placing that weight down and feeling your body restore its strength.

If you are dealing with old patterns, we might gently separate the past from the present so you can move forward.

You are always in control. You can hear everything, and you can come out of it any time. Most people describe feeling lighter, clearer, and more at peace afterward.

  • I’m here in the middle of the night, scrolling, because I can’t quiet my mind. Why hypnosis?

You’re not alone. Many people find themselves here: restless, overwhelmed, unable to turn off their thoughts, replaying the same worries. Hypnosis offers something different from white-knuckling your way through. It gives your nervous system a chance to slow down, your subconscious mind a chance to breathe, and your body a chance to remember what calm feels like.

Hypnosis is not magic in the Hollywood sense. It is a natural state your brain already knows how to enter, like when you get lost in music or miss your freeway exit because you were daydreaming. In that state, your mind is more open to new patterns, healthier beliefs, and kinder ways of relating to yourself. That is where the real change begins.

  • What can hypnosis help with?

Hypnosis is especially effective when your conscious mind says, “I know better,” but your body and emotions still react like they do not. It helps bridge that gap. Clients often come to me for anxiety, stress, and overthinking, or for difficulty sleeping and shutting off the mind. Others come to build confidence, strengthen self-worth, and set healthier boundaries. Hypnosis is also used for shifting habits that feel impossible to break, easing physical discomforts with emotional roots like migraines, tension, or chronic pain, and for supporting creativity, expression, and life transitions. Think of it as working with the part of you that runs on autopilot. When you shift that, everything else follows.

  • What does it feel like to be hypnotized?

Most people describe hypnosis as deeply relaxing, like being wrapped in a warm blanket while still aware of what is happening. Some feel heavy, others feel light, and some drift in and out. There is no one “right” way to experience it. It is your mind finding its own rhythm. If you have ever lost track of time watching a movie, or felt your body sink into bed just before sleep, you have already been in similar states. The difference is that here, you have a guide helping you use that state for healing and change.

  • Why choose hypnotherapy instead of therapy, coaching, or meditation?

All of these approaches have value. Therapy can help you unpack the past. Coaching can give you strategy. Meditation builds awareness. Hypnosis works at the level of the subconscious, where beliefs, habits, and automatic reactions live. When you have talked about the problem, journaled about it, tried to push through, and still feel stuck, hypnosis helps because it bypasses the loop of “thinking about thinking.” Instead, it speaks the language of your body and emotions. That is why shifts can feel both gentle and profound.

  • What makes your approach different?

I am a certified hypnotherapist, Reiki practitioner, and educator with over 20 years of experience working closely with people as a theraputic hairstylist and healing artist. My work is trauma-informed, queer-centered, and inclusive. I do not just use scripts. I listen, adapt, and build sessions around you. I weave together psychology, somatic awareness, energy work, and creative metaphor so the work lands in a way that feels safe, personal, and effective. Clients often tell me they did not expect it to feel this supportive or that they felt seen in a way they never had before.

  • Do I have to believe in hypnosis for it to work?

No. You only need to be open to the process. Even skeptics go into hypnosis because it is a natural brain state. Belief does not matter. Participation does. If you are willing to relax and follow my guidance, your subconscious will do the rest.

  • Is hypnosis it safe? Will I lose control?

Hypnosis is safe. You are not asleep, and I cannot make you do anything you do not want to do. Think of it more as a collaboration. I guide, and you choose. You are always in charge, and you can come out of it at any time.

  • What if I am nervous to try?

That is normal. Most of my clients felt nervous at first. But the moment they realized they were still in control, and that the process felt natural and even restful, the nerves faded. You do not have to get it “right.” Your subconscious already knows how to do this.

  • How long does it take to work?

Most people start to notice shifts within the first few sessions, but lasting change usually requires a series of appointments. Hypnosis works at the level of the subconscious, where patterns and habits live, and those often need more than one session to reset. That is why I recommend beginning with a package or subscription so we have time to build momentum. Single sessions are available later for touch-ups or maintenance once the deeper work is in place.

Because hypnotherapy typically requires fewer sessions than traditional mental health work, the overall investment is often significantly less. If you are also working with a therapist, progress can be even faster because hypnosis and therapy complement each other.

Energy Work FAQ

  • What is Reiki?

Reiki is a gentle practice that balances energy in the body. It can be done in person or from a distance and is often used for calming the nervous system, grounding during transitions, or creating space for emotional release. Many clients describe feeling deeply relaxed, lighter, or more present after Reiki.

  • Do you offer other energy-based services?

Yes. In addition to Reiki, I offer Akashic Record readings. These sessions provide intuitive guidance for people who want clarity, direction, or spiritual insight. Clients often combine Akashic work with hypnosis to align subconscious shifts with a larger sense of meaning and purpose.

  • Can Reiki or Akashic sessions be combined with hypnosis?

Not at the same time. Each service has its own purpose and works best when given space on its own. You might choose hypnosis for subconscious change, Reiki for energy balancing, or an Akashic session for intuitive guidance, depending on what you need in the moment. Many clients use them at different times throughout their growth process, and they complement one another well when experienced separately. The only services I combine at the same time are Reiki and therapeutic hair sessions, since that energetic support naturally enhances the experience of care and image work.

Hair and Image Consultation

  • What is therapeutic hair and image consulting?

Therapeutic hair and image consulting is different from a traditional salon visit. It is a process designed for people in transition such as changes in identity, age, gender expression, career, or personal growth. The focus is not simply on how your hair looks, but on how you want to feel and how you want to be seen. Together we explore the connection between your inner self and your outward image. Sometimes this includes a haircut or styling, and sometimes it does not. The purpose is to understand more about your image subconsciously. How you treat yourself and your hair tells a whole story about how you.

  • What is the environment like?

Sessions take place in a private studio space that is intentionally calm and personal. It is not a busy salon filled with chatter or distraction. Instead, the atmosphere allows for reflection, conversation, and care that feels uninterrupted. Many clients describe it as a relief to have this kind of privacy, especially if they have never felt fully at ease in conventional salons. I use Loma, Innersense, and Cult + King products, which are all responsibly sourced and clean. For clients who are sensitive to fragrance, I also offer scent-free or low-scent options. I also take neurodivergence and sensory needs into consideration, adjusting things like lighting, sound, touch, and pacing so the session feels safe and supportive for each person.

  • Who is this service for?

This work draws people who are moving through big transitions. It may be someone affirming their gender identity, someone stepping into a new role in adulthood, or someone who has been through burnout and wants their care rituals to feel restorative again. It is for people who value being seen and respected, and who want their outer presentation to reflect their inner growth. Many clients are those who never quite felt understood in mainstream salons and want a space that centers care and authenticity over appearance alone.

  • Do you still do regular haircuts or color?

No. I no longer run a traditional salon. If you are looking for standard salon services, I can recommend trusted stylists. My focus now is on the therapeutic and consultative side of image work, where hair becomes part of a deeper process of expression and alignment.

  • Can hair services be combined with energy work?

Yes. Reiki is the main modality I combine with hair services at the same time. Energy balancing naturally enhances the experience of care and can bring a sense of grounding and renewal while your hair is being shaped or touched. This integration helps make the session feel less like a service and more like a ritual of care.

  • How long does a session take?

Therapeutic hair and image sessions last about three and a half hours. This time allows for consultation, reflection, energy work if desired, and hair services without feeling rushed. The length is intentional so the session can feel like a true ritual of care rather than a quick appointment.

  • Are you licensed, and what are your credentials?

Yes. I am a licensed cosmetologist with over 20 years of experience working with clients in both salon and healing spaces. I am also a certified clinical hypnotherapist, Reiki practitioner, and educator. My work has always been rooted in care and transformation, whether through hair, healing, or subconscious work.
